Almond Teak

by Valerio Sommella & Simone Bonanni

The Almond Collection marks the second collaboration between Otazen and designers Valerio Sommella and Simone Bonanni. In the teak version, the collection highlights the natural warmth and character of solid teak, creating a refined presence suitable for both indoor-inspired and outdoor spaces.

Its defining element is the signature almond-shaped profile, which shapes the structure and visual identity of each piece. This generous form softens the armrest and creates a smooth transition between vertical and horizontal elements. Dining, lounge, and sunbed pieces are unified through one cohesive design language rooted in warmth and comfort.

Valerio Sommella & Simone Bonanni

Valerio Sommella and Simone Bonanni are Italian industrial designers based in Milan, who have collaborated on special projects for international brands since 2021. Sommella, born in Cortona in 1980, graduated with honors from the Milan Polytechnic and founded his design studio in 2009. Bonanni, born in Pordenone in 1989, graduated from IED Milan in 2011 and gained experience at Marcel Wanders Studio in Amsterdam before founding his own studio in 2015.
